Terry’s journey
to Earlier this year my son
Richard announced that he was getting married to his fiancée Felicity, and
that the happy event would take place in a tine Friend’s Meeting House
called Come To Good in Cornwall,
in August. Being a teacher with a six week break from school at my disposal,
and not wanting to waste it sitting around at home waiting for the wedding,
I decided to cycle from my home in North Yorkshire to Falmouth in Cornwall,
arriving in time for the forthcoming nuptials. For weeks I planned my route
and booked my Youth Hostels, then couldn’t wait for the end of term when I
could get on my bike and set off. I recently became the proud owner of a
Dawes Sonora touring bike, to replace my thirty year-old Peugeot, and was
looking forward to getting back on the road, having not attempted a major
trip since
